Born into a family of famous Danish pictorial artists, Ib Spang Olsen and Nulle Oigaard, Martin was early in life introduced to the art scene. He held his fist exhibition at age 19 and has painted professionally ever since. Being trained as a singer and guitarist, he often gives concerts at the vernissage.
He holds a total of 28 professional titles – stretching from pictorial artist, musician, actor, director martial artist, stunt coordinator, and more.
“I perceive the movements of dreams – trance forms, in which figure and non-figure fuse. I dream my motives, and they in turn dream me. We are a connected carpet in the collective field. Inexplicable, but most recognizable for anyone daring to dream”.
For this exhibition, Martin has chosen paintings from his dream series “Talking Trees” and “Talking Lakes”, together with a few of his excellent portraits and a few sketches and graphics. See a few examples here.
